Many of us know or have heard that exercising puts you in a good mood. Investigating a bit we found that exercise has a physiological effect on us the moment we practice it, immediately our body reacts and starts to release endorphins and serotonin.
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is found in the central nervous system and regulates functions such as sleep, moods, appetite and sexual desire. It can be produced by eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, practicing relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation, sleeping for 8 hours, having projects in life, having a positive attitude and having sex. But it is also important to see what are the causes of a decrease in serotonin in the body, obviously stress is what most lowers these levels, also excess heat, poor diet and age as it decreases as years pass , the good thing is that we can take care of producing it!
Endorphins are known as the hormones of happiness, because they regulate the state of calm, joy and the feeling of falling in love. By exercising we release endorphins which regulates our levels of physical pain as a style of soothing and helps control anxiety. Endorphins also regulate our appetite and release sex hormones. These are produced by our body in a natural way and are increased when performing resistance exercises, but the downside of this is that these hormones have a short effect because our body is eliminating them to balance us. If we had endorphins all the time we would not be able to feel pain, which is an indicator that there is a problem and we could not appreciate happiness when we reach it.
Other causes for which exercise puts us in a good mood is because it helps your bones are strong and you feel strong and safe, helps with blood circulation which increases and improves the activity in your brain, it releases the stress of the day to day and therefore makes you have a better attitude to the problems of daily life.
For these and many more reasons we recommend you exercise regularly, try and see how your attitude improves in a few days.
